We choose to care
Casa Yute was born with its feet in the sand and its eyes wide open. We know this corner of the Oaxacan coast is both fragile and extraordinary — and that our responsibility is to leave it intact, or better, for those who come after us.

— 01. Water
The resource we protect the most
In Playa Aragón, fresh water is scarce. From the moment you arrive, we invite you to be part of this awareness: reused towels, shorter showers, small gestures with a real impact.
Every room and the dining area are equipped with purified water stations — no PET bottles, no single-use plastic. The water you drink at Casa Yute is clean, local, and leaves no unnecessary footprint.
Our pool runs on a salt chlorinator system — no conventional chlorine, no harsh chemicals in the water you swim in.

— 02. Plastic
Less plastic, more intention
Every purchasing and operational decision at Casa Yute passes through the same filter: does it have to be plastic? Almost never.
Refillable amenity dispensers in all rooms
No plastic straws
No pet bottles for sale or courtesy
Reusable beach bags for every guest
— 03. Local Sourcing
What you eat and drink has a name
We believe that buying local is, in itself, an act of sustainability. Our kitchen and bar work closely with producers from the region — every choice on the menu is also a decision about where the money you spend here goes.
Coffee: Single-origin Oaxacan beans
Mezcal: Small local producers
Seafood: Community fishermen
Jams: Artisan preserves
Bread: Village-baked daily
Textiles: Regional weavings
— 04. Waste & Water
What we throw away, we think about
Active waste separation across all hotel areas — not as protocol, but as culture.
Organic: Goes to composting
Glass: Separated for recycling
Aluminium: Separated for recycling
Pet: Separated for recycling
Cardboard: Separated for recycling
Kitchen organic waste doesn't go to landfill — it feeds our gardens, the hotel's green areas, and soon, our own on-site vegetable garden.
We operate a grey and black water treatment plant. Treated water returns to the cycle responsibly, with no impact on the coastal ecosystem.
— 05. Experiences
The landscape as teacher
Some of the experiences we offer aren't just entertainment — they're an invitation to understand the place you're in. All outings are led by local guides and follow minimum-impact protocols. Because truly knowing a place is the best reason to protect it.
